Main methodologies for the evaluation and selection of areas for landfills

Abstract

This work presents initially the main methodologies dcvelopcd for the selection of landfills implantation arcas. After that, it discusses its deficiencies and presents a new methodology based on the use of geographic information system, fuzzy logic and multi-critcria analysis.  Finally, some conclusions are extracted in which enhance the advantages of the new proposal methodology.
