Abstract

ln order to its application on the design of geosynthetic reinforced embankments on soft soils, a limit equilibrium method is described. Using this method, overall stability of a reinforced embankment on soft clayey soils is analysed and their results are compared to the ones computed by another method, also based on limit equilibrium assumptions but using numerical results from finite element method application.
