Waste landfills: Some geotechnical aspects

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to emphasise the most relevant geotechnical aspects in the design and construction of waste landfills.  On the other hand, was drawn the attention to the importance of the control quality assurance for the construction of these kind of structures, showing the significant role performed by L.N.E.C.

Finally a challenge is made to study a variety of problems that are still open.
