Abstract

The rôle of the reinforcement structure on its interaction mechanism with the soil is studied based upon the results of five pull-out tests carried out with three different types of geosynthetic structures in a granular soil.

The influence of the transverse bars of the grids on their interaction mechanism with a granular soil is analysed by comparing the results of four pull-out tests, two of them carried out with samples of an intact geogrid and an intact paragrid and another two with samples of similar materials without transverse bars.
