Suggestions for specific norms concerning hydrogeotechnical studies and the treatment of rock foundations of dams

Abstract

This paper presents technical suggestions which are the result of a professional experience of more than thirty years in matters related to the design of dams and the treatment of their foundatic during construction.

The suggestions which are presented and justified aim at contributing to the approval of specific norms for hydrogeotechnical studies and the treatment of rock foundations of dams. Thus construction criteria and the interpretation of results will be more uniform enhancing the safety of structures.
