A Rheological Maxwell Model Submitted to a Cycle Linear Stress

Abstract

The Maxwell model submitted to a cyclic linear stress with a maximum value σ_M is studied, being found that its behaviour approaches the one due to a vibration with an amplitude equal to the maximum strain of the spring, almost following the straight line corresponding to the creep under a stress equal to one half of σ_M when the period of the cyclic stress tends towards zero.
