Monitoring of a tunnel of the Lisbon Metro network

Abstract

The paper deals with the instrumentation and monitoring of a subway tunnel in Lisbon.

Reference is made to the main characteristics of the tunnel, including thc geological and geotechnical conditions. The instrumentation arrangements are described and the main results of the measurements are presented and discussed.

The results of a numerical modelling of the construction of the tunnel at one of the five instrumented sections are also presented and compared with the measurements.
