Geotechnical classification of the rock mass excavated for the Sado-Morgavel tunnel

Abstract

A methodology is described which was adopted in working out a geotechnical classification of the rock mass excavated for the Sado-Morgavel tunnel.

Considerations are also presented in the paper, concerning the applicability to said tunnel of a number of existent geotechnical classifications.
