Determination of the elastic constants of anisotropic bodies by diametral compression tests

Abstract

This  work  presents  the  expressions  that  allow  the   elastic   constants   of   anisotropic bodies to be determined by means of diametral compression tests carried out on circular cross-section specimens  containing  either  the  principal  planes  or  three  any  planes  intersecting  at  right   angles. Results of tests already performed on schist specimens are also presented.
