Control of Vibrations Caused by Blasting

The exploitation of large quarries frequently raises the problem of the vibration levels of the ground and of their influence on the stability of constructions and on people's wellbeing. LNEC has had the opportunity of studying this problem in different situations, both in

Portugal and in Mozambique, and the results of those studies are presented in this paper.

On basis of the experience gained, a standard has been prepared for the control of vibration levels caused by blasts.
