Abstract

The fundamentals of Theory of Plasticity are presented and correlated with the methods of computation, used in Soil Mechanics, based on the limiting states of plastic equilibrium. The method of Sokolovski is briefly exposed.

The basic principles of Critical State Soil Mechanics are presented and discussed.
