Standartization of anchored retaining structures

Abstract

The pioneer developments of the anchored structures in the highway retaining walls in Brazil and in the world are discussed in this paper and some Brazilian examples are cited.

The article also discusses the standartization of the permanent anchorages starting from that already adopted abroad, of the provisional anchorages, and the Brazilian standards proposed.

The paper is a development and a revision of a previous contribution of the Authors (Costa Nunes and Couto e Fonseca, 1972).
