Compressibility of sands determined by means of penetration tests

Abstract

The experimental studies carried out in order to determine the compressibility of sands from penetration tests results are reviewed. ln deepsounding tests, below a "critical depth",

the point resistance remains constant. A method is proposed that enables the determination of lhe compressibility below the critical depth.
