Abstract

Reasons of the study are referred, related with the cost and time of the tests, and the convenience to have a general appreciation of the piles driven in a job. The existing information of the local geology, piles tested and results is presented. The results of the evaluation of the bearing capacity of piles by the final set are discussed, and the statistic population of the results is identified. The very large dispersion of the final set results is confirmed. Correlations between static load tests (SLT) and dynamic load test signal matching (DLT-SM) relating results of bearing capacity and results of settlements are established. Correlations between bearing capacity estimated by dynamic load test signal matching (DLT-SM) and by Hiley formula, are discussed (DTu vs PTu). Three possibilities of adjust the Hiley formula to the job conditions are presented; however the dispersion is always very large. A strategy to straightened the quality control of the driven piles and to know the global population is suggested.
