The durability of geosynthetics: stigma or sustainability factor

geosynthetics, durability, sustainabilityAbstract
This paper intends to show that in parallel with the success of the use of geosynthetics in numerous applications, significant challenges/stigmas to impose themselves on the market had to be overcome, many regarding queries on durability: first, querying if the geosynthetics durability would be sufficient to go along with the service life of the geoenvironmental applications in which they were (and are) used. More recently querying their excessive durability, undermining its sustainability. Thus, it is intended to show that the durability of geosynthetics is and has always been a sustainability factor and to demystify that stigma.
