World Health Economy, Innovation and Inequality

Abstract

The world health economy reflects the strong investment in research and development (R&D) that has been made in developed countries. However, this is a reality that is not reflected in the developing countries, the countries of the sociological South. These countries are even faced with other health problems. This article shows an overview of the dominant rationalities in the health economy, on a global scale, highlighting the discrepancies that are occurring in reference indicators. The final considerations discuss the feasibility and effectiveness that the social movements that act in this field should obtain for the development of democratic biopolitics that responds to everyone’s needs.
