The self‑regulation of motivation (SRM) in learning is an essential construct in the self‑regulation of learning (Wolters, 2011). This study presents the development of an instrument that assesses motivational beliefs and the regulation of motivation strategies in middle‑school students. The “Self‑Regulation of Motivation in Learning Scale” was applied to 316 7th, 8th and 9th‑grade students. Results indicated good reliability characteristics, as well as suggested four types of beliefs and five types of strategies. We discuss possible relationships between the beliefs and strategies regarding the regulation of motivation.Downloads
