The Middle Ages were a scenario for several expressions of a knowledge produced by literatti in Jewish communities in its several forms, mainly in philosophy. The main time interval (11th, 12th, 13th and 14th centuries) coincides with the consolidation of an Aristotelian philosophical tradition in the basis of the Arabian language and culture. Such a wealth in the intellectual sphere is also attested by recognized intellectuals in the fields of Hebrew language, culture, religion, philosophy, and history. Arabian, Jewish and Christian cultures have been involved in a remarkable process of matches and mismatches, interaction and superposition through the Middle Ages – facing it may illuminate our understanding about individuals and their work beyond themselves.
