The main goal of this paper is to mediate on dance as a work of art, from the point of view of Gadamer’s phenomenological approach to the notion of game. We will also deal with dance as a method of existential therapy, of catharsis by means of a muthos. The importance of this approach can be measured in face of world governed by increasing individualism and the primacy effectiveness and rentability. The fundamental goal of this paper is then to reveal recognition as the fundamental meaning of this art form. Basic categories of the hermeneutics of H.‑G. Gadamer are to be used extensively.
