Abstract

The author aims to show how and why rhetoric, rather than philosophy itself, can and should constitute, with regard to the subjects it deals with, an interdisciplinary paradigm of investigations to be undertaken by philosophy and science in general. From this perspective, he carefully analyses the “state of the art” thinking on the subject, reviewing the respective bibliography, and puts forward a set of fundamental proposals for achieving this objective.
