Abstract

The paper presents the state of the art regarding the existence of a possible philosophical “school of Coimbra” (16th – 18th centuries). It faces theoretical productions that can contribute to clarifying the issue – the history –, lists some of the main lines of these productions and school – the trends –, and tackles some problems that may difficult the discussed identity.
