Resumo

This proposal, aiming to investigate the contribution of Anthropology to the study of education, depicts the approaches of both kinds of knowledge: philosophical and scientific. The key point of the input of Anthropology to the study of education may be pictured as an intersection of converging circles, coming from an interactive overlap of human nature, education and culture. In the course of human being as an individual, culture and education are elements which form and determine that development. The philosophical perspective may provide "statements" centred on what man, culture and education must be. However, contribution from scientific perspective must go beyond the purposes of "understanding" and informing the pedagogical decision making. Besides, it may ease the development of theorical framework in Education field study.
