This study analyses the inter-raters agreement on the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scale – School Edition, that is to say, it examines the degree of agreement between assessments of parents and special education teachers, regarding the adaptive behaviour of 40 children with special educational needs, attending elementary school (grades 1 to 4). The study also analyses the influence of the number of stress factors in the family, the level of parents’ involvement in schooling and the teachers’ years of professional experience in special education in the inter-raters degree of agreement. The correlations between the two sources of information are low or moderate, and it was in the domain of Socialization that the lowest correlation and the least degree of agreement were found. The data obtained highlight the importance of attending and valuing both sources of information regarding the assessment of adaptive behavior.Downloads
