Abstract

The researches that have been made at the last decades show relationships among various personality traits and academic performance (Farsides e Woodfield, 2003; Chamarro-Premuzic, Moutafi e Furnham, 2005; Conard, 2006; Komarrajau, Karau e Schemeck, 2009; Poropat; 2009). Solid and stable links between some school performance indicators and the characteristics assumed by the subject have been supported. Therefore, motivated by the interest and educational benefit that trigger these empirical findings, we proceeded with an investigation that sought to understand the relationship between personality characteristics of students and their school results. From the Gordon Personal Profile-Inventory - GPP-I, three classes of 12th grade, in different training areas, were evaluated. Generally, the results achieved in this research strictly follow the investigations previously referenced. Characteristics such as responsibility and prudence are significant features in order to attain good results, as the higher levels of responsibility and prudence lead to improved scholar outcomes.
