This article presents the general conclusions of a doctoral thesis, in which the social issue of working women with children aged 0 to 2 years old was problematized, concerning the custody and education of their children. Considering the changes in the status of women and children's lives, the day care institution was deemed to be a space for the social practices of families, for the professional practice of educators and one of the spaces where a new culture of childhood and its socialization is built. The statements of educators and parents were analyzed, revealing an ongoing process of building new languages that have been affirming the educational character of the day care service, as well as reconfiguring the conceptions of motherhood, women's work, fatherhood, childhood and 0 to 2 years old children's right to education.Downloads
