In Portugal the carriage of dangerous goods represents about 10% of all goods transported by road, of which 70% are liquid and gaseous fuels. Based on the number of victims and their severity this paper identifies the hazards and analyses the accidents in the transportation of fuels in the recent six years. The locals where more accidents occurred were identified and a correlation between accidents and traffic data was established.
