Abstract

The concentration of population in urban areas associated with a rapid and uncontrolled growth has resulted in a variety of transformations in the urban environment. The expansion of urban space Aquidauana-MS/Brazil caused significant changes in the natural landscape showing a lot of socio-environmental problems today, as high discharges and floods. These results suggest that increase flooding are related to the advancement of urbanization coupled with the ineffectiveness of urban planning.
