Physical Geography is an essential science since the first moments of land use planning. It studies not only the landforms but also the processes of their origins and evolution. So, it will be possible to predict natural risks, more or less induced by man. In this article, we have selected some study cases in Portugal in order to make scientists, technicians and politicians aware to the importance of Physical Geography on land use planning studies.
