Abstract

A database of natural disasters with hydro-geomorphologic origin is presented, reported in the local press for the Baixo Mondego region, in the period 1961-2010. The results highlight the impacts of urban floods and progressive flooding in the urban/rural interface, as well as slope mass movements associated with road infrastructures. Temporally, a decrease of impacts caused by progressive flooding and an increase of those related to flash floods is highlighted.
