Abstract

The defense works and soil conservation in Portugal had a notable increase from 1941. Aware that the man's livelihood depended on the land and the erosion associated with the action of water from rainfall degrade gradually, edaphic resources, many works were torrential correction carried out across the country. This article appears with the purpose of divulgation of works performed, and especially the most used techniques in correcting erosion, through specific examples in Pranto River Basin (Lower-Mondego).
