Abstract

This is a summary analysis of the main aspects involved in fire vulnerability and development in wildland-urban interface areas. Records of actual fires occurring in recent years have been collected, especially from 2014 as this was considered the year with the greatest disasters caused by this type of fire. Based on fieldwork and fire forecast analysis, results indicate that the response time for the first attack is the determining factor in the possibility of success in the timely containment of fire advance.
