Abstract

Located in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, the municipal headquarters of Aquidauana has been suffering with the materialization of successive floods. The objective of this work was to perform a socio-spatial and environmental analysis in the floodplain, by the use of maps and interviews with the population. The results show the imminent increase in floods, number of households, topophilia, property damage, economic and social losses.
