The HIDRALERTA system is a system of forecasting, risk assessment and warning associated with the overtopping and flooding in coastal and port areas, with the basic idea of using measurements/estimates of wave conditions to calculate their effects in terms of overtopping and flooding. This paper describes the Risk Evaluation component of the HIDRALERTA system and presents applications to the port and bay of Praia da Vitória, illustrating its potential.Downloads
