Abstract

The earthquake of January 12, 2010 in Haiti is approached from the perspective of Disaster Medicine through a literature review and a discussion of the humanitarian intervention between France and Portugal, based on interviews with Colonel and Director of the French Airmobile Task Force Michel Orcel, and with Commander Elísio Oliveira and Dr. Cunha da Cruz, both part of the Portuguese Detachment for Humanitarian Action.
