The study we proposed to carry out, about the influence of the urban modus vivendi on the occurrence of weekend rainfall, based on the daily precipitation records of the Porto-Serra do Pilar station, between January 1978 and December 1998, allowed us to observe that it rained on a considerable number of weekends (at least on one of the days). Of the 1096 weekends analysed, we verified that it rained on 589 (54%). The analysis of the rainy weekends distribution per month, during the twenty years under study, may contribute towards the need to question the magnitude of the Mankind 's impacts on climate, and specially on the quantity and rhythm of rainfall distribution at a local and regional scale.
