Abstract

The present study aims to test a multicriteria evaluation methodology to produce landslide hazard OIS based maps; the investigations have started with the identification, recognition and classification of several examples of landslides. Consideration is given to their frequency, magnitude and in some cases to the catastrophic degree of loss, of life and goods, mainly near Régua - Douro basin, as the result of an extreme meteorological context of the Portuguese Winter 2000-2001, and these were important contributions for the definition of the application area.
