Abstract

Much more than the first librarian of the General Library of the University of Coimbra, Jorge Adalberto Ferreira Peixoto, left us an important cultural and scientific contribution that this article intends to demonstrate, deserving due recognition, in terms of academic research in archival and library sciences and the openness to new technologies in libraries.
