To consider the Trojan War in the context of a reflection on 'conflicts and conflictualities' corresponds to assessing a paradigm of the phenomenon that we globally call 'war'. Even if shrouded in fantasy, the campaign waged near Troy, as described by the poet of the Iliad, contains all the features that convention and the reality of a conflict keep repeating. Dimension, causes, cultural confrontations, personal and collective interests will always be the presuppositions of the phenomenon. To which it must be added, on a more specific level, issues raised by the hierarchy of command, the relationship between leaders and subordinates and, in such a human phenomenon as war, by sensitivities and emotions.
