In a disciplinary framework that involved various areas of knowledge, the MAS project focused on the production and direction of eight filmic objects embodied in excerpts from José Saramago's book As Pequenas Memórias (Small Memories), where the landscapes, people and affections of the Ribatejo village that saw him born shine through. These short films were conceived as a mediation device between the memorial past and an experiential present, intertwining childhood memories of the Nobel laureate with the memories of the people who remember him, reconstructing in memory the place/Azinhaga as cultural heritage.
The screening of the short films took place in Azinhaga for a mostly local audience of different generations, fulfilling its function of mediation between the artistic work and the territorial and heritage context, becoming a space for intercultural and intergenerational reflection.
