Abstract

This article analyses the music video for the song “A Tourada” by the artistic project A Naifa based on the reading of multimodal signifiers that refer to the imagery of the April Revolution. Using the Critical Analysis of Multimodal Discourse (ACDM), we aim to examine the discourse elaborated in the “videoclip” as an expression that constructs and reproduces resistance to power. Therefore, we start from the theoretical basis that it is fundamental to analyse and interpret multimodal discourse, considering the beliefs shared by those who (re)elaborate the discourse, the set of historical and individual experiences and the socio-historical context in which it is framed. Since it is a multimodal discourse, i.e. composed of different modes, it will be essential not only to characterise the ideological coordinates of resistance, but also to describe and analyse the diverse semiotic relationships established.
