Abstract

Issue No. 11 of the 3rd series of Biblos-Revista da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra (Journal of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Coimbra) is devoted to the theme of Freedom, and is intended as a symbolic contribution by the School to the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April, which will take place in 2026. The significance of this thematic choice is immediately apparent in the use of the verse from Maré Alta by Sérgio Godinho – “Freedom will pass through here” – which opens the call for articles, published at the end of 2024. The wording of the verse is obviously historical – the album Os Sobreviventes was recorded in Paris in 1972, two years before April; but it is nonetheless timeless (or, if you prefer, premonitory).
