This article launches some data on the political path of the Portuguese intellectual Eduardo Prado Coelho (1944-2007), between the years 1968 and 1986. With an approach focused on public intervention - particularly that which occurred through his participation in opinion publications and in generalist newspapers - and in his private correspondence, this initial study seeks to highlight and explain, albeit in an exploratory way, successive periods of partisan political life of one of the most outstanding intellectuals of the second half of the 20th century.
