The journal of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra, Biblos Revista da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra, assumes an interdisciplinary orientation and is intended for a public receptive and interested in the Humanities, the Social Sciences and the promotion of Arts and Culture. The journal accepts articles in Portuguese, English, French, Spanish, Italian and German. It is annually published according to a thematic organization and a peer reviewing. It is published on digital media at Impactum , the site of Coimbra University Press, and there will also be paper copies.

Biblos was founded in 1925 — subtitled “Boletim da Biblioteca da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra”, which became the current title as early as 1927 — by a decision of Joaquim Mendes dos Remédios. The journal launched a new series in 2003 (series 2), both renewed and faithful to tradition.

Biblos aims at establishing partnerships and generating projects with other publications and research centers, in view of simultaneously promoting and internationalizing the researchers and the research carried out in Portuguese and the dissemination of scientific studies of international reference in the Lusophone area.
