A corpus of trial hearings constitutes a research support infrastructure that holds scientific value for a range of research domains.
However, while corpus-based research is a way of validating research, on the other hand, making these texts available via open access raises problems related to the sharing of personal data of those involved in the hearings.
The challenges encountered in the process of anonymising the different types of data present in the corpus, as well as the ethical issues raised, allow us to reflect on the limits and constraints felt by the researcher, while also analysing the possible ways of making the data available, in the search for a balance between data protection and the scientific value of the texts.
