In the framework of the research project “Nueva Edición del CIL II: Conventus Emeritensis. 1.- Augusta Emerita. Tituli sepulcrales urbanos”, a new technological tool that enhances the visualization of damaged epigraphic texts has been applied: the so-called “Morphological Residual Model” (M.R.M.). Several examples from Augusta Emerita are presented (granite stelae and cupae, as well as marble plaques) showing the results of this new method that represents a considerable advance in order to access to the original state of the inscriptions, with obvious application in the fields of research and historical diffusion.
