A necrópole romana do sítio da Estrada da Calçada 2 (Beja) - notícia preliminar

Abstract

The archaeological site of Estrada da Calçada 2 refers to a Roman necropolis, chronologically framed in the first century AD. In the mentioned necropolis a small mausoleum was identified, in which the existence of two distinct moments of use was perceived, as well as a remodelling of its structure. In the first phase of use of this monument, several burials of incineration were identified, posteriorly placed in urns and placed inside it. A high number of ceramic unguentaria were also found inside the chamber.
