The Roman city of Arucci is located just three kilometers from the present urban center of Aroche (Huelva) and has been object since 2004 of research and enhancement by the Ayuntamiento de Aroche and the University of Huelva, with the support of the Junta de Andalucía. In 2014, a campaign was carried on in the denominated North House of the city, a domus where a treasure composed by 376 denarius from the 1st-2nd century AD was documented, 375 belonging to the Antonine Dinasty and only one is earlier, belonging to Domitian. Within this hoarding, a greater number of coins is from the time of Hadrian. More than savings, Arucci’s hoarding seems to respond to a selection or collection of coins.
