Abstract

The understanding of the fora of colonia Augusta Firma “ Astigi, the Roman Écija, has advanced considerably in the early decades of the 21st century, thanks to the results of various archaeological interventions carried out in the city, particularly in connection with urban renewal processes. Most notably, these advances are attributed to large-scale excavations conducted in the Plaza de España. The following lines present a current overview of our knowledge regarding the organization of these key public spaces, the main buildings identified, as well as the most significant decorative elements and epigraphic evidence that have survived to the present day.
