Based on the investigation performed for the Bachelor in Archaeology Seminar project for the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, it is presented and developed here part of the results obtained for the better understanding of the Mesolithic reality of the Sado river basin. Therefore, using GIS, it was performed a study incident on the Mesolithic shellmiddens of the river Sado, on which it was studied the relationship between the populations and the geographical area, searching to observe common characteristics to try to find a possible existence of a settlement pattern. The connection with the hydrographic space is the one which will be here highlighted as also the visibility between the settlements themselves, observing a weak intervisibility between the various groups unlike what was initially pondered.
