Abstract

In the framework of the preventive archaeological work carried out as part of the irrigation project executed by EDIA, SA, a substantial set of negative structures – pits type and small ovens were identified at the site of Barranco Horta do Almada I (Santa Clara do Louredo, Beja). According to Southern Portugal archaeological record, this site, considering the typology of structures, stratigraphy and material culture can fit, in chronological and cultural terms, in the context of the beginnings of the Holocene, as will be discussed.
